Did you know today is Ascension Day, the day we remember when Jesus rose into Heaven? And it is followed shortly thereafter by Pentecost Sunday, when we remember the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Jerusalem. These are momentous events in the history of the church. Speaking about them ahead of time, Jesus said something very peculiar to his disciples: "It is for your benefit that I go away . . ." (John 16:7, CSB). This is certainly not what his disciples would have expected him to say. How could his departure be for his own followers' benefit? We will consider this unexpected teaching, as well as the significance of Pentecost, and the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives, through our new sermon series: "For Your Benefit." Join us this Sunday at 10 am as we worship and fellowship together.

If you are asking these questions (or others!), then join us for the next Discover Grace Class to learn about Grace's history, identity, beliefs, mission, partnership, and more. 12:00 - 1:00pm in Taylor Hall on June 1, June 8.

Make plans now to attend this meeting, which is essential to our life together as a church! We'll provide dinner at 6:30 pm, and childcare during the meeting, which begins promptly at 7:15 pm. Come celebrate what God has done, and make important decisions about our future.

Our Grace Kids ministry loves children and teaches them about Jesus. We are seeking 10 new volunteers to serve once per month. You can work with babies & toddlers, preschoolers, K–2nd grade, or 3–5th grade. See Melanie Armstrong or Maura Maitan to learn more, or email office@gracestamford.org. 

All women are cordially invited to the Grace Church 4th Annual Ladies Tea on Saturday, June 14th from 2:00-4:00 pm. Wear a spring dress and hat, and bring your favorite tea cup. All women are invited to an encouraging and uplifitng time of prayer together every Sunday before the worship service. Join with other women to intercede for each other, our families, the church, the community, and the world.
